Title: Bingham Plans
Post by: wappkid on January 17, 2009, 09:01:00 PM
I ordered the plans for a 2 inch take down.I started with 1/2 inch grade plywood for the limb press. After I got it glued and screwed together.I cut the curves in it. Measured the width and it measured out at 1 15/16.Will that work for a 2 inch limb press.

Use something to fill the 1/16" overhang, if you don't your glue will pool into there when you clamp up your limb and lock the limb to the form.  Happened to me on my first build, and I used auto bondo to fill it it in.  Haven't had any problems since.  You can see pics of it on my buildalong a posted a few months ago.

It shouldn't be a problem.  Just put a good layer of plastic wrap on the form first and then fold it over the lams before clamping.  That contains the squeezed out glue.

I used Bondo to make sure the form surface was perfectly square with the edge too.
