I need a book or small guide to help me find potential bow woods. I would like something specific to the Pacific Northwest but would use other books if I had to. Any suggestions?

The Audubon Field Guides to North American Trees is a very good ID book and they have one for Eastern region and Western regions. Available at most good book stores. These field guides have photos of leaves, flowers and fruit as well as a drawing of the tree showing the overall shape and branch structure and a written description of the tree and its parts, its habits and location. As Pat said - The Audubon Fild Guide series of books are arguably the best guides on most any flora or fauna subject you'd like to pick - IMO. Sometimes you can pick up ones you want at second hand book stores for a lot less than you might expect to pay.

I have two small pocket sized tree books. "Winter Tree Finder" and "Master Tree Finder" by May Theilgaard Watts. One is leaves and one is winter bark.
