Title: Bow Wood?

Hi, I`m interested to know if i can use Beech to make a flat bow? Are there any pro`s or con`s using Beech?

Darren, I answered you on PowWow but I will here also.  Give beech a try. Make it 2" at the fades and out the limb half way then taper to 1/2" tips. For 28" draw make the bow at least 66" long.
   What other hardwoods do you have available in Romania?   Pat

I made a beach flat bow once.2 1/8" wide 60" long nocks were shade more 3/8 the guy whated it to been through the handle.But he whated  the tips stiff.I saw him while scouting for deer 2  February later.And he said he was still shooting it.
