Title: Pine--ok for board bow?
Post by: Dave Bowers on August 26, 2008, 12:00:00 PM
Hey fellas reading this section is getting me pumped up to give self bow a whirl. I was in home depot today and had a idea for a board bow of sort. But was wondering if pine was acceptable bow wood or should I look for a oak equivalent?

Look for oak.  Or go ahead and make a pine bow that's about 4" wide at the fades - it can double as a canoe paddle, but will create quite a breeze when shot  ;)

Check out these sites first. Then go to the home improvement center.
