-
Those are some great looking bows jack!
-
Thank you
If I get home at a decent time tonight I will add a picture of a few more I have in the rafters. The two in the photo are my go to bows this season.
-
Jack, I just noticed those are the famous "mud flap" ladies on the one bow.. :)
-
Yes, proof that rednecks should not go without adult supervision.
The bow is called "For Bucks Only"
Some of the kids at the local archery club like to look at my camo job. I would go over and ask them for the drivers liscense. Tell them they have to be 18 to look at the bow.
-
I was wondering what kind of snake that was, Jack!
-
66" osage self bow with antler overlay tips and hand-painted snakeskin back. 56# @ 28". A look at the handles
(http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n274/JackSkinner/broadheads/Bows/PROJECTS076.jpg)
From the left: "Splinter" osage he follows the string more than most but has taken my best buck so far. Osage flat bow use this one in Nevada to take my first mulley with selfbow see how dark now. Little bind to the handle selfbow for rabbit hunting, it is trying to break at the bend in the lower limb. ?Iron wood turkey track bow used for decoration in the house wasnt a very good shooter, slow even for selfbow. Osage "for bucks only" has taken a doe mulley wasnt its fault it didnt live up to its name had a doe tag. Osage "Furrows" moves a arrow down range with authority. Osage bullsnake backed flatbow made this one for turkey hunting but I think the snake scares them havent gotten one yet. Osage D bow made by my daughter and I she shoots it really well.
-
Jack,
That's a nice collection. Mind it I come by and dig around in your rafters sometime?
I'm on my way to having a lot of bows, I have 5 hanging on the wall. I try to give some away as gifts so the wife doesn't get after me.
Hiding in the rafters may be the way to go!
-
Out of site out of the wifes mind. If she doesnt know how many I have she doesnt mind as I make more. My son has a couple more I made with him up in Wright. I have traded a few and given away a few more so I can keep making shavings.
-
Sorry Pat B didnt see you question in this post till now.
Bullsnake, I painted the back of the bow black before I glued it up.
-
