Title: Bi-metal blades
Post by: Crooked Stic on February 03, 2008, 04:56:00 PM
I just picked up a couple of bi-metal blades for cutting glass backed limb tapers. Then a light bulb came on. I am making a bow that will have a dymondwood riser. I thought that I would try the blade on the dymondwood before it touches the glass. It did an outsanding job going thru the dymondwood. I also cut some actionboo with it for lams again got a smooth cut. May just have to get another one for the glass jobs and keep this one for the wood jobs.

Good to know Mike, I've been pondering a new type bandsaw blade for longer life.  Hows it last as far as cutting limbs to rough shape?
How much do they run-ya?

I could not tell you the exact number of limbs I cut with the last bi-metal a guess would be thirty sets. But I had to retire it. We have a place here in Eville IN. that makes the blades to your length. 93 1/2 for me. $25.00
