I am trying to find some online traditional shops that accept paypal I have looked at most of the sponsors but none that i seen will take paypal for payment so if anyone knows of a good online traditional shop that will accept paypal let me know. James
Why use paypal. They all or most take Cards.
Maybe i dont understand how paypal works.
I don't use credit cards i prefer paypal that way it just comes right out of my bankaccount. James
If you use a debit card it will still come right out of your bank account.

Look in the sponsors list up top. I know Sipsey river archery take paypal over the phone. I'm sure theres a few more.
PayPal is WAY convenient, I love it, and look for it when shopping. That being said, I recently did business with The Nocking Point, and had to call them on a land line to give the debit card numbers securely. It was worth it for the superior service, good prices and extremely fast shipping. I will do it again at the slightest provocation!

I have in the past on atleast 3 seperate ocasions bought from 3rivers and paid by paypal. I just called and asked them, they said ok and took my order, then I hung up and sent the payment to that info@3rivers email address they have. Havent done it in about a year tho so cant say for sure if they still will.
Thanks RAU i will see if 3rivers is still doing that.If not i will just use the debit card and order from one of the other sponsors on here. James

when I do all payments on line, I use a per-paid credit card. the only time there is money on it is when I put it on... Just a safe way to do business. You can even use it to do a pay-pal...

Ok, dumb question here about the paypal thing. Eveybody is asking me about accepting paypal when I sell things in the classifieds.
I bought a bow off **** once w/paypal but never had a payment made to me before. How does that work? Will paypal just "credit" my Credit Card?
Hope I'm not "hi-jacking" this thread but thanks!
Jim
Paypal payments are just electronic money transfers. If you have a paypal account, the money is put in your account. If you don't have a paypal account, you can still get money sent to you but I can't remember how it actually get's to you. I think you have several options like having it put into a bank account or a check sent to you.
I like paypal because it is quick. I can send or receive payments almost instantly which is very nice for doing online transactions. I can buy a bow on the classifieds and pay someone who has an account right that moment and get the shipping and the whole process in gear in no time flat.
It does cost you 3 percent of you are paying someone. The credit card company charges the same but you don't see that coming out of your pocket as easy but it's coming out all the same. That is the reason some people don't like dealing with it.
I like dealers who accept paypal because then I can use the money directly from my paypal account. I wanted to make a purchase from 3Rivers just last night but did not find anything on their site about accepting paypal. I guess I'll have to call them next time. I had money in my account that I wanted to use. Debit card works good too but the wife can't track the paypal account as well.
I have a paypal account but can't use it to pay for a purchase because they want access to my checking account before they will transfer MY funds. I don't understand--they don't have any business with that info. I've been able to use it before, is that something new?
BL,
I opened a seperate bank account I call "my paypal account" (or something similar :saywhat: ) as opposed to my personal account. I dont keep much money in it unless I intend to use it. Then there is the actual paypal account on the paypal site. paypal.com Your money goes in and out of your paypal bank account to your account on the paypal site.
I like the system and am glad the question came up. Been wondering the same thing. I dont like to use credit cards either.
Lin
Lin,
Do they transfer the money from your bank account or your paypal account when you make a purchase? Where does the money sit? in your paypal balance or your bank?
Bryan
BL, if you have funds in your Paypall account, it will draw it straight from there. But if you Paypal account is empty, it will draw the funds from the bank account you have linked to the Paypal account. It really is simplicity in itself.
Also you can become 'verified' by Paypal. That is, they will do checks on your bank account and billing address so that people you deal with will know you are the person you say you are.
In theory I guess it works that way. I've got a couple hundred sitting in a paypal account but paypal won't let me pay a $30 payment on some gear because it's over my "sending limit". They want access to my bank accounts now. I never had that trouble before. I'm wanting to order some stuff from a sponsor here and paypal could cut a week or more off the transaction time but I have a problem letting a faceless corp. and whoever works there have free rein to money that was hard to come by.
