I have two turkey wings from the fall hunt. I went to the tutorials for the build along, but the pictures are not there anymore. Does anyone know how to get the pics. back?
The person needs to repost the links for the pic's. It's really not that hard to do... skin, flesh, cut close to knuckels... boil...clean....put together... Call in turkeys

Okay, I have three bones from each wing cleaned, they are boiling, don't know the put together part.
This wont help you build a wing bone call but may give you some ideas. Bought this off E-bay last year. Arrow heads and lanyard pieces made and carved from antler. Wrapper in colored thread and clear coated. Its more like art than a turkey call.

you'll have to cut/sand the bones to get them to fit together. just cut a little at a time. a dremel tool will make it easier. i like to leave the thinner bone fairly long, seems to sound better. the smaller end of the skinny bone is generally used for the mouthpiece. use some sort of epoxy to glue them together and then your imagination to cover the joints. some people put a clearcoat finish on, but i haven't found anything that does not leave a really bad taste.
i forgot to mention...try to make the joints as airtight as possible. i mix epoxy with a little bit of cotton and try to stuff the gaps after i glue the bones together. you can also use cane/bamboo and make the same type of yelper. good luck
Neuse what you do is cut each bone close to the knuckle on each end of all three bones.There is some stuff that you need to clean out of the inside,I use pipe cleaners.Then the three kind of "fit" into each other largest to smallest.(Like D.Sheppard's pic show)Once I get them to "dry fit" I mix up some epoxy and reassemble.Then you can add decorative wraps to dress it up if you like.Also add a little dish soap to the water when you boil them it helps remove the oils. I'am sure there is more than one way to do this,this is just how I do it and it has worked for me in the past.
