Title: Been working on the leather work...
Post by: just_a_hunter on May 09, 2014, 06:28:00 PM
I've finished up a few graduation presents and such and thought I'd share some leather work.

I have put a lot of study into it these last few weeks and have really appreciated the tips I've gotten.

First couple attempts were pretty sorry.

Last few I've made. Been experimenting with different finishes, techniques and styles. Fun as making knives..

Looks great!    :clapper:

Interesting how the knife nests into the sheath.  Nice pics!

Yup, last one is hitting it for me, too. Maybe it's the combination of everything (stain, tooling, knife), but regardless-nice work. I'm sure there will be some very happy recipients  :) .

looking really good.
That style of retainer snap strap on the last couple is pretty commonly cut when withdrawing the knife from the sheath(or putting it back in) but it looks like you have them made to be fairly easy to replace. One thing that works well with the same style is to cut 2 slots for the strap to go through the belt loop piece. Saves stitching if it gets nicked/severed.
