Title: 3" Slip joint
Post by: 2Tim215 on May 05, 2014, 05:35:00 AM
Had a brain wave on Sunday morning and came up with this, my second slip joint. Finished it at 20H30. Was a long day.

OAL = 185mm
Blade = 80mm x 24mm x 2.5mm with a 75mm cutting edge
1080/15N20 random Damascus with Red Bush Willow, Black and red liners and a SS liners that were shaped into a washer at the pivot area. Forgot to mirror them before I attached them though

And a link to the vid:

For a prototype I am very pleased and this is more to my style. Some areas that need improving and finishing off better but it's getting there.

Cheers
Tim

That looks great. I'd call it a good day  ;) . I really like the figure of the wood scales coupled with that Damascus.
