Title: Whisperstik Mojostik
Post by: Flints on February 01, 2008, 06:00:00 PM
I just took a look at the Whisperstik site and really like the looks of the Mojostik. It has a kind of 50's recurve look to it.I noticed the grip has a sort of contoured shape to it. Has anyone had any experience shooting one and any info about how comfortable the grip is would be helpful. Thanks

Yes,, I have shot the mojostick before,, That right there is a sleeper waiting to be found,, that bow is smooth,, and shock free in the hand,, can't say enough about the bow but sweet shooter and the style is an awsome throw back to the 50's recurve,, I have met Jim on several location as he lives about 20 min. from my house,, If I had the extra cash for a recurve I would no doubt buy the mojo,,I shot the michigan special,,Great bow for the money and great craftsmanship,,

this one has a heel,, He'll do it with and without it,, this is one of his long bows,

Jim builds the grip to locate your hand the same everytime. These bows are meant to be 50's style recurves, but dont let that look fool you on performance. These things are FAST, super quiet (hence the name) and very smooth. I shoot the Mojostik, At 50 lb draw, I need to shoot arrows spined at 70lbs. I have put about 10,000 arrows through mine and its still in perfect shape. I have yet to hear a bad word about the bows or Jim. Give him a call.

His "newer" recurve grip without the heel swell has a slightly larter mid grip for better hand location with a little higher wrist. I have an "older" one and ordered a new one I should get in a few days, and the newer ones feel better to me IMO.

I received the 60" Demo Whisperstik yesterday and shot it in the yard today. These bows are just awesome!! Workmanship is top notch. The bows grip allows for consistent hand placement shot after shot and the bow is quiet, smooth, fast and deadly accurate. I'm no Rod jenkins by any means and my arrows were not spined right for the 45# demo bow but at 15 yards I had no trouble tearing up the black circle on the target we are using for the on-line tourney. JD is a great guy to deal with and his bows are just flat out shooters!!!
