Yes, it is. It's the nature of the beast sometimes. I contributed not so much to post in the classifieds, but to add my support to the cause. There is nearing 40,000 members now and I imagine running this site incurs some expenses. I visit TG every day multiple times. I would hate to lose it.

If I were to become a sponsor, would I automatically be a "contributing member"?  That may be a stupid question, but just wanted to check.  I'm considering becoming an associate sponsor next year.

I believe someone asked a very similar question over on the PowWow forum. Terry said he was looking into that issue.

Maybe he's had a chance to do that and can provide us with an answer soon.

The new classifieds have nothing to do with cost of running the site. There were just too many people joining TG just for the classifieds and doing bad deals. Now in order to get to the classifieds you must be a contributing member, just a way to protect the members.

Understood. Thanks for that clarification.

Understand that Danny.

I believe the issue was/is "does being a sponsor qualify as being a contributor?". Logically, it would seem the answer should be "yes", since sponsorship entails more of a commitment than just being a contributor.

I asked this on the pow wow thread on this topic and the answer was that sponsors have all of the access that the contributors have plus the sponsors classifieds.

I should have looked closer. Rob spelled it out pretty clearly. Even put it in bold type.

And I expect to hit a deer when I can't even read bold type?   :(
