Howdy fellas,
Here is the first knife I've ever made! I made it out of extras my father in-law had around his knife shop. Blade is Stainless, bolster is water buffalo and the handle is curly maple that was dyed blue with resin. May be something wrong with my computer, but I can't see the pics. I'd like to see the knife, I made a blue curly maple knife for my son last year and it usually makes for some nice looking knives.
Matt
Not your computer Matt. I can't see anything either.
Sorry guys! It was my first time posting pictures and I messed up on my post, I hope you can see them now.
Good job.
Nice work
It looks good. Very good.
Very nice. That blue maple looks awesome and I really like the metal spacer between the wood and horn. Did you make the blade as well?
No the blade was a spare blank, that was lying around. It's Japanese stainless or so I'm told.
Very nice. I can see it now. Time to make another one. You done good thanks for sharing.

I've been thinking of doing another, as I really enjoyed making this one, maybe a kukri next time or something......need a good chopper.
I thought that looked like a blank that I used a few times before I started grinding my own last year. If it is the same one that I used, it is Japanese steel. I made several with that blank and they were all outstanding as far as sharpening and edge retention goes. You definitely did a good job of dressing up.
Matt
Very Nice
Thanks for all the comments guys. I can't wait to use this knife in the field, hoping to get an elk this year to try it out on.
Wow!

Might have messed up your first picture post, but the knife is great!
Hope you get an elk to try it on. If that's ATS-34 and it was properly heat treated, you won't be disappointed in the edge holding. Nice clean work on that handle and the sheath as well.
Great looking knife. I wish my first effort had turned out that nice. Congrats
I HATE YOU,just kidding that is awesome.
