I just recently traded for a Hunter 56.  I love mine, and I think you will love yours as well.  Beautiful looking bow you have there.  Enjoy it!
All the best,
Glenn

I had a very successful season last year with my Hunter 56 - it's the bow in my Avatar.  The 56" Hunter I has beautiful lines.  With the shape of my face and the size of the window, I had to shoot mine three under though and I traded for a little longer 60" Hunter I so I could go back to split finger - just a preference.

Yours looks great, but the riser looks like walnut or bubinga with bocote as the lighter figured wood?  I'm confused.

Here was mine - shedua and bubinga riser with walnut limbs.

LOL, now I'm confused. Maybe you are right, I thought the site said walnut...  I am by no means an expert on wood so feel free to help me out there.

As for the fingers, I prefer split fingers myself i guess we will see how this works out. I will let y'all know tomorrow night.

I love the color of your bow, the darker woods are really nice. If I could have gone that route I would have but there isn't a lot of choice in the lower draw weight range. I love the colors on mine too, there is always room for more bows anyway  :p

You are right, I was confused with another bow I wanted but was too high of draw weight the other riser wood is Bocote

If you like the darker woods, I think you will like mine too (I know I love it!):

I've shot a 56" Hunter that my friend used to have.  They are very nice shooters.  I'm sure you won't regret your purchase.

Glenn (cajuntec) - very nice, what wood combination is that?

Great choice, short sweet and deadly.I'm sure you'll love it.After years of trial and error my 56 became my favorite wood riser bow.(The only other bow that came close to it is my predator dipped Daala.)                      Chek-mate makes a first rate product, and lucky for us, not to hard on the pocket book.                      bye the way, nice wood combination    Enjoy.  Mo.

The previous owner had two of these.  They were both supposed to be the exact same woods, but the riser woods looked differently, and I don't think mine is exactly as he ordered.

Phenolic and Bocote Riser, Yew core limbs, Birdseye Bocote on Belly, Black glass on back.  I know all the other specs are exact, but I don't think the riser is Bocote.... so it's Phenolic and ????  It was the exact same color as the Bocote on the other bow he had, but doesn't have the Bocote "figure" that I'm used to seeing in the grain of the wood.

If your interested, I'll post pics of the Birdseye Bocote belly lams - they are really pretty.

All the best,
Glenn

Very nice, always did like the way their limbs fit to the risr.  My father had one for awhile, and it really shot nice!!!!!!

Enjoy!!

Definately bubinga (reddish wood), but the other looks like zebrawood rather than bocote.  I'll see what I can find out.

Maybe I should just ask GM Archery again, they took the bow off the site a day after I purchased it so I can't go back to look at it.

I think it kind of looks like bocote myself.  Here is why I say that... my belly lams are birdseye bocote.  I thought I had a good picture of them, but I don't.  I'll try to take a better one, but the grain swirls on his riser looks a lot like the lams on my bow, which are Birdseye Bocote

All the best,
Glenn

Chad always wins in a discussion on Chek-Mate.  Dang him!    :D

Actually, he is one of the most friendly, informative people I've ever had the pleasure of speaking to.  Great guy.    :notworthy:

You have a great looking bow there.  Have you shot it a lot yet?

All the best,
Glenn

It does look somewhat like really light colored bocote, but I know that (except in rare instances) bocote is limited to only one CM dealer (me--lol).

I know we maybe questioning the exact wood combinations, but don't doubt the fact that they really look good!  Whether zebra or bocote, makes a jam-up looking bow!

And to be honest, if I can come close to Chad in identifying the woods, I am quite proud of my self!  Now if I could only shoot and make strings as good as Chad!  Steve

Ok so I shot the bow.....

It's just totally awesome, super smooth, fast shooting too.

The setup was great out of the box (GM Archery set it up with string, nock and silencers/limbpads as shown in my pictures)

It ended up being 55lbs and my draw but feels great and I can pull and hold it no problem.

I am 100% happy with it, I love it.
