Title: Couple Severe sheaths/Campbell blades
Post by: Doug Campbell on June 12, 2011, 05:52:00 PM
It's another rainy Sunday afternoon, I'm sitting here waiting on some friends to show up so thought I'd post a couple of pics. I built these a little while back in anticipation of an upcoming knife show at the annual Montana Quigley Shoot next weekend. It now appears the Boss has changed my plans of going so you guys get to see them instead of a bunch of black powder shooters...

Last month the wife and I went up to WA to meet our daughter from AK for a couple days which put us too close to Robin to not visit. We spent most of our time in his shop playing around and these sheaths are the result. He makes it look way too easy, thanks again Buddy!

This bowie is 9 1/4" forged from a 2" round bar of 52100, Elk antler, a damascus guard, spacer and butt cap.

Also a sweet 4 5/8" Ladder pattern damascus Hunter with damascus guard and a Desert Ironwood handle.

These may end up in the Classifieds a little later...

Thanks for looking

Take care

It was sure a pleasure to have Doug & Karen here for a little while. I got to do what my bride says I'm great at ( BS-ing)
Those blades are really better than  picture's can show.
It was a blast to handle them.

Only thing that would have been better would have been a hunt of some kind.

Thanks guys, glad you like em. With all the nasty weather we've had this year there's been bonus shop time, tried to make the most of it. Now if my shop just doesn't get washed away...  ;)

I ended up with the Bowie shown above when Doug so generously donated it to the St. Jude auction. It is a beautiful knife that balances perfectly just behind the guard. if I ever want to stick a live pig with a knife, this one will sure do the trick. It is sturdy and sharp as a razor. Robin's sheath really carries the knife well and looks fantastic too. I am a big fan of 52100 as a knife steel, and Doug certainly knows how to work it.
