Title: 4 1/2" Tribute to Randall Gamemaster
Post by: Idahomike251 on April 01, 2011, 07:44:00 PM
I have just finished making bunch of knives for the upcoming Oregon Knife Show, and with the freed-up time I was able to finish this copy of the Gamemaster excecuted in D2 tool steel for my friend who has been waiting patiently. The knife's mass weight is a little too much on the heavy side for me, but it feels  very well ballanced in my hand. Handle is stabilized Koa. D2 blade's hardness is Rockwell 59C.   (http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt31/mokamura_photo/001-4.jpg)  (http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt31/mokamura_photo/003-6.jpg)

What's up with all the incredible knife builders on this site?  Never would of thunk there were so many talented folks out there!  Each knife I look at makes my knives look pedestrian.

Yes, he even had his name engraved on this blade, but then again, he allows me unlimited access to his ranch full of wild turkeys, so we're good!

Really nice knife.  Are you coming to Moses Lake or WSR?  I enjoyed looking over your knife selection last year.

Mike,
Your work speaks for itself, but for anyone who would notice, the drawing illustrates not only the knife you envisioned, but the fact that design and planning are part of the job. Excellent.

Lin, Thank you. I was really pleased that the result closely resembles my initial concept, I placed the completed knife over the drawing, and it pretty much fir right over the drawing.
