Title: Casual Carry
Post by: Steve Nuckels on February 27, 2011, 08:45:00 PM
Well I finally finished this little guy.  5" OAL stock removal full tang from an old sawmill blade, Vine file work on the tang.  Edge quenched and etched showing the temper line. Domed pins, Stained curly maple, tung oil finish with silver wire inlay.  I made the sheath and tooled the same pattern into the sheath, wished the tooling was crisper and more definded.  Lots of work for such alittle knife!

I'm calling it a Casual Carry, a nice little knife to have on my side.  I'm keeping it!

That's  great Steve, looks like you took the file work all the way around.
I guess it does take time to do all that, I thought you had quit making knives, seems like a long time since you posted one. Glad you still at it

Thanks Dana!  I'm very slow! I usally have several projects going at the same time.  I really should concentrate on just one at a time.

Great job! I like how the inlay and sheath go together. It's not always easy to make a knife and sheath look like they were meant for each other. And that curly maple just fits that style perfectly. A nice knife to keep for yourself.
