Title: Elk Bowie
Post by: srtben on January 02, 2011, 09:28:00 PM
This is my first attempt at a bowie, I've been really inspired by some of the amazing bowies I've seen lately.
The blade is 5160, with Nicholson file fittings, and elk antler handle. I did matching file work on the spine, pommel, and gaurd.
Oal is 17 1/2", and the blade is just shy of 12". It is a through tang peened over the pommel.
Thanks for looking!

Great looking knife. Only one question.
What you going to do with it?

There will be NO commercial sales allowed.

NO showcasing of knives for sale.

NO sales commerce of any kind.

NO posing links for sales.

NO mentioning or hinting of ANYTHING to do with selling, buying or trading of ANYTHING.

If only Crocodile Dundee had seen that, I don't think he would have pulled his bowie out calling it a knife. That is one heck of a blade, I LIKE IT.

Ben, that is..... well, awesome!  I like your style!

I like the long clip and slim blade.

I forged a blade over the summer that looks very close to that profile, I got to get busy... you have inspired me!
