I started a tradition a few years ago of making something for all the guys on both sides of my family for Christmas. Bows, arrows, quivers...I've created a nice group of shooting partners in the process! This year they're getting these little neck knives. I've posted lots of these, and even they're not really "hunting" knives, many of the guys hunt and will use them while doing so, so...maybe they count! :)
They're a mixed batch of 1080 bar stock and reclaimed saw blade steel. All were etched in vinegar and then sanded lightly with 600 grit paper to gently polish the high spots. The scales are horn, zebra wood, quilted maple, and flamed maple.
Now, hopefully we don't have any trips to the ER after the arm hair shaving contest, which undoubtedly take place in our competitive family...

Very nice. Great gesture. Atleast it's will be an arm hair shaving contest and not back hair!
Way to draw in some more trad guys.
