Thank you to everyone who posts their work here. I have been soaking up all the information you share here for over a year. I learn something new every time I read through the posts. I have made a few stock reduction knives but have been wanting to make one in the forge.
Here is what I came up with:
This picture is the knife sitting on the spring it was made from. The picture was taken before hardening and tempering.
Here it is complete:

Very nice knife, great start there!

very cool! looks kind of thick in the edge though. Kind of wedge shaped... which isn't as effective at cutting. But I realize you were probably trying to preserve your hammer marks. Which might be why you were inquiring about hollow grinding??

It's kind of thick in the edge because I don't know what I am doing yet :p
After the second picture was taken, I filed the edge quite a bit thinner. I think it looks better without the bluing on the edge too.
Either way, this is a blast. Making knives is great. Thanks for the feed back. That is the kind of thing that will help me get better.

Just keep making them and in a year think about how you have improved. Good job. Lin
