I have enjoyed reading this forum lately. I have been making bows for a long time, but have recently decided to try my hand at forging. One of my best friends is a blacksmith, so when I get back from Afghanistan, he is going to get me started. I have always been a knife nut so it only makes sence that I start making them. I am glad to see so many great knife makers in our trad ranks. I look forward to learning all I can from you guys. Thanks for all of the postings, Todd

Todd, I am in Illinois as well, so if I can be of any help give me a holler.
-
Todd,
If you don't take Karl up on his offer...I'm movin' to Illinois and Hollerin! Doc

Todd,
Thank you from 1 vet to another. You will love forging. I have my grandfathers portable forge and tools. I learned early working on the family farm that if its broke, fix it.
Take care.

Thank you gentlemen. I will certainly take you up on your offers. Nothing better than spending time with friends crafting things you can use in the outdoors. If any of you decide to make bows I will certainly help you with anything I can in that department.
Mr. Anderson - If I'm not mistaken Watseka is up north?
Doc - Where are you moving to?
Sgt. Graves - Thank you for your service. I am in the fight a different way. I am not in the service.
Skullworks - Thanks for the well wishes.
I can only hope to make knives half as beautiful as you all make. Thanks, Todd

Actually, if you live in Chicago, they say everything south of I-80 is "southern Illinois".
