O.k., here's a few shots from the past.

I believe the deer was taken in '88 or '89(?). Before 1990 anyway when I moved from the farm country of mid-Michigan where I went to college. I'd been seeing twin bucks all summer long in my hunting area- this was one of them. They came down a trail together, one behind the other and as luck would have it, the buck in back looked away allowing me a (lucky) quick shot at the leading buck. Anyone else remember using this camo pattern which blended in with nothing?

The camping photo was taken on "Queen's Land" in Northern Ontario, near Wawa. My first bear hunt- 1990. My guide recommended that I paint my broadheads (bear Razorheads, I think) white to "help notice a pass through shot". Seemed like good advice at the time         to a first time bear hunter.

The turkey depicted in this less than glamorous photo was my first with a bow and was taken in '92. I was (and still am) quite proud of that jake because this was a solo hunt in the Huron National Forrest in Northern Michigan and was taken the last day of a six day hunt. The hunt took place in late April and I absolutely froze may arse off each night because I was "tenting it" and grossly overestimated night time lows. Plus, I'm certain I was wearing good 'ol cotton as a base layer. After I centered this bird with an arrow that stuck out both sides, it took off on a dead run and then took flight for about sixty yards before it came crashing down. At the time, I knew very little about turkeys and being surprised that it took flight, I can remember thinking- "uh oh!" The primaries on both wings were ruined by the arrow, but I still had it mounted- 2" beard and all.

The bow in all the photos is a vintage MAII Graybark Black Widow.
