Anybody out there have any pictures they can post of their broadhead knife and sheath? I am making one out of a Deadhead and antler today. I'd like to see what others have made. I will post a pic of mine when I get it finished.

There is one in the St. Jude Auctions with a Back quiver sheath.

Here's where I'm at right now with it. I should have asked this question earlier. I filed the antler down. I think I will make a new handle with the insert in it.

Shlep, that's sweet! Nice Idea for the 'hook!
I've thought of this over the years, just never did. Now I'm inspired.
Great pics and knives, Gentlemen!

I have never seen anyone do that. Those are cool.

How do you guys drill out the antler? what do you use to hold the head in? glue? Great idea would love a how to.
-
Drill bit just a hair bigger than the insert and super glue is what I always used.

So a friend saw this post some time back and mentioned it to me to look at. We go to a ranch in TX each year for a hunt and take the owners somethng as a gift. Gene thought that something like this would make an cool gift.
Well a good friend and hunting partner just turned 50. So for his birthday I thought I would try my hand at the Broadhead Knife as a gift.
So here is my rendition of the Broadhead Knife. Elk brow tine handle (shed found on one of our hunts together). Tradepoint is of my own make, think el grande without the ferrel. I double beveled it for the knife. Copper hefting. Solo stalker style sheath has a belt loop attachment and is of my own making.

OK Boys, I was hoping someone else would ask this question but I guess I'm the one who will have to blink first:
This is pretty slick stuff but what would you use a broadhead knife for? Is this strictly ornamental?
I know I am going to feel like an idiot when the answer comes but I am sometimes a little slow on the uptake.

just about anything you would use a small knfe for. I cleaned many a bunnies and busytails. And I know some have used it to dress deer. And yep, I have made alot of them. Handy and very cool.<><

Thanks for the response Sticshooter.
I think I am going take a stab (no pun intended) at making one of these and see how it works.

I was considering my design more for skinning.

You can always unscrew the head, then screw it to the head ya just stuck in a tree and use it to pull it out. That's what I originally made one for.
