Thass a fine gangsta lean, my brotha! ssssup, yo!? :biglaugh:
You and Chase have grown unbelievably since I saw you last. Amazing.
Sorry I didn't get to see all you guys - I ran in for an hour to get supplies then off to hog camp.
I couldn't even find Karl Anderson though I had his booth number....for us sometimers sufferers that row/booth numbering system left something to be desired for sure.

Sorry for the slow pics, I have been a road warrior this week.
I had a great time at the Blade Show, as usual. Bought some handle material and a couple of tools I have been wanting.
Now for the pics...

Those are awesome knives doug
-
I think with those you showed the judges you where a very versital maker .Good Job
-
Good point Kevin. The judges like to see "range" of the maker's skill. Lin
-
That San francisco dagger is tremendous - and I really like the originality you brought to tried and true designs
that's a great piece of sea cow in the long knife.

Ray, when I found out you had been there and didn't stop to see me, I'll admit, I got a little mad.
Guess you've spent too much time in the swamp.
You're forgiven.
-
Sorry bro'
I did look for you!!!!
-
Doug,
Do you have a any single photos of your test knives? I would like to see the "S" guard bowie closer if you have one. Now that all of the dust has settled from the show, I want to handle that one especially. I bet you were in the running for the Peck Award. Lin
-
Thanks Lin, Terry Vandeventer and Wade Coulter both told me this one was just edged out by Michael Routh's mammoth ivory bowie. I looked at Michael's knife and it was a great knife. I'd loved for you to handle this knife but it went fast and now resides in Tulsa OK.

Thanks again everybody, building this set of knives was a great learning experience. Pushing yourself to do new and better work will really benefit anyone willing to try. Be patient, persistant and unafraid to try whatever interests you... Many times I've re-done things three or four times to get it to my liking.
-
You really nailed this one. I have known it for a while, but seeing it on your table confirmed it for me. You are right, a knife like this dont "just happen". It takes an attitude of not settling for less, so sometimes you have to tweak a curve or a line here and there, but it paid off. I had hoped you would document it professionally and Coop did a good job. Thanks for showing us. Did Coop photograph any of the rest? Lin
-
Thanks again Lin and yes I paid a good bit of Coop's expenses ;) Here's two more I had him do, thought I better get my portfolio started ;)

I'm glad to see it Doug. One or more of these will grace the pages of a knife publication before long you can bet. Lin
-
I had this one on my kitchen table for two weeks and used it to spread my peanut butter and slice my cheese before delivering it for Doug.
Sure am gonna miss that thing.

why Doug...that's the finest cheese slicer I've ever seen!!!!!!!!
-
Pretty cool pics Doug  Pretty nice when someone comes that close to showing how they really look. :notworthy:

The lines on that dagger cannot be described without holding it in your hands first person. All of his knives were amazing works of art, but that one in particular was over the top.
Awesome stuff Doug! Enjoyed meeting all the TG'ers at the show, hope to see you all again next year.
-
Great stuff lads ! thanks for sharing. Doug those are beautiful pieces. Well done mate !
