Title: Camp chopper
Post by: prarieboy on May 03, 2010, 02:27:00 PM
this is an anhydrous amonia shank(Used as fertilizer on the farms around here) before and after.
 this breaks the ground up.
I gotta do it. Made a shank out of shank!
These are semi shaped. ready to forge?
sanded a little on the unworked one to show that they have been hard face welded inside the bend to help prevent wear.
I will expirement with etching now that I have tested it some. for strength and edge durability. This is a chopper!!!!
Have thrown it at tree for an hour or so.Sticks fair. chopped a log no chips or breaks in the edge.
won't still shave but it's pretty sharp still. too cool!

nice design.... cool wrap.  just clean that metal up and you'll have a nice looking tool.
