I plan on using this for a knife for the St. Jude auction. Got a little detailing to finish. My real question is do you all think I should stain the antler and leave the skull and antlers white or leave the whole thing natural?

Here it is with a quick stain job to see what it would look like.

It is awsome as is! But I vote for highlights.

My vote? stain & white..nice carving

The white antlers and skull would show up very clearly if the remainder was stained. People would have to look too close and try to decipher what was actually carved otherwise. When held in relief, the antlers will be easily recognized even at a small distance. Instant understanding of what is actually carved. instant statement! But you have already realized that is what is needed, and we are happy to reassure your obsession with detail! "Let's roll" with it!
