Title: Bowie-ish
Post by: Wampus on April 08, 2010, 01:17:00 PM
Forged down from 1-1/8" 52100 round bar with threaded tang and nickel-silver guard, buttcap, and thong hole.  Brown micarta handle with brass and red fiber spacers.  Blade is 1/4" thick at guard and tapers to point.
I attempted to copy Charlie Ochs' Ox Forge SpecOps Bowie but the guard is shorter because I was running low on ns stock, and his are much nicer looking all around.

I would not worry if it is a near copy.  I think it looks great.  I need to get me a bowie, I do not have a traditional style bowie only a survival type with no handle.  THE KNIFE LOOKS LIKE QUALITY!  (The towel or rug is not a great background for such a knife, IMHO.)

Good work!

I generally don't like micarta handles, but that one really caught my eye.  Nice work.

Thanks guys.  Just got back from the PO and it's on it's way to Afghanistan.  Gift for an old marine bud who's over there with the FBI now.
