Title: the final edge
Post by: Scott Roush on April 07, 2010, 02:49:00 PM
Just wondering how people here do their final working edge when finishing.  Do most folks use their final grit on the grinder for the edge and then polish?  I've decided I don't like the look of secondary edge bevels and am trying to come up with the best technique...  I understand that much of it depends upon the application of the blade...

Scott, as you know I'm no expert, but I like the convex grind.  Also "Apple seed" grind.

Scott, I just got the DVD "The making of a Knife" by Mr. Bill Moran and he shows and explains an interesting method of blade grinding!

Steve..  mine end up convex too because I do my working finish after grinding an edge.  But for those who sell.... is the final edge done on the grinder during finishing... or do folks use a stone?

I will have to check out that DVD Steve...
