I recently finished another large knife that is kin to one I showed you in March. This one is very similar. The materials are the same and almost all of the features. I just made another one. Lin

Lin, that is soooooooooo sweet.
There are some really, really subtle differences between the two. I can't even pinpoint them - but they're there.
I'd like to have one in each hand.
Did you find any fancy hogs yet?

Good job Lin!!
I personally like the single pin best ,although if I where stuck on an Island using the knife every day maybe I would use the multiple pin knife.
I still like the first Ivory one the best!! ;)
,followed by the first single pin knife!!!
Nice job all around!!!
-
Yikes! They just don't get better than that Lin
any hog on my place would commit suicide to get stabbed by any of them!

That bottom knife has some of the nicest ironwood I have ever seen. It is much more appealing to me than burl.

Stic,
I'm sure Lin is a believer in tools being used are paying him the highest compliment.
Collectors keep the prices up, but I bet the ones that get used are the ones that please the maker the most.
-
We going to organize a driven hawg slayin for all those fine knives. Beautiful works of art Lin! I'm not sure I could bring myself to stabbin hawgs with one of those.
-
Holy Crap!!! The only thing that could make that knife complete is blood on the blade! awesome knife.
-

Gulp...that is absolutely beautiful! One question do you know what species of wood (the latin name) that Ironwood handle is made from? I would like to try and find some.
-
Thanks for the compliments fellas. Matabele, here is the Wikipedia on Desert Ironwood. Lin
Olneya tesota is a perennial flowering tree of the Fabaceae family, legumes (peas, beans, etc), which is commonly known as Ironwood or Desert Ironwood. It is the only species in the monotypic genus Olneya. This tree is part of the western Sonoran Desert complex in the Southwestern United States, which includes flora such as palo verde, saguaro, ocotillo, brittlebush, creosote bush, and mesquite
