Title: Stabilized woon handles

hey everyone, im new to the knife makeing and just trying to figure out if the wood for a handle needs to be stableized? if its not stableised will it fall apart? what are the benefits of stableised wood? thanks, Chris!

Stabilized wood is better at not being affected by temperature and moisture. Not all wood needs to be stabilized like Ironwood, cocobolo & snakewood. Some soft woods ability to with stand use and dents is greatly enhanced by stabilizing.

Skullworks hit it on the head.  Soft woods need stabilization, hardwoods usually don't.  I almost always use hardwoods so I don't use stabilized wood at all.
