Hi Everybody,
I've got some steel comin in the mail so I figured I was gonna need some handle material too so I looked through my woodpiles (I heat the house with a woodburner)
And this is what I found ( with alot of sawing and some sanding)

that's a quarter in the bottom left of the first picture. Red oak really isn't my favorit wood , but I found a piece with a nice wavy-grain pattern. The walnut has some real purty colors.
There's plenty more to still be cut up.

Nice find. I found a decent supply of curly maple in my woodpile.

Nice wood. I like figured walnut a lot in a knife handle.
