we always see knives in the side veiw, and that is the most appealing veiw. but lets see some from a vertical veiw to see the profile of the disstill taper and handle profile. ok lol i am doing this mostly for my learning but im sure otheres will benifit from it also.

-
Dana,
I see things that are not perfect about it, but in general this illustrates the different areas of a knife that a maker needs to give attention to. Thanks, Lin
-

Karl, I think that's the most beautiful piece of damascus I have ever seen. The dark guard and butt really set it off. You sir are a real craftsman. Thanks for sharing.

Great looking damascus Karl!

Here's a photo of a tapered tang I just finished. (Along with a hog sticker). Photo make the dovetailed bolsters on the pig sticker look uneven...I assure you it is dead even and it is a poor photo.

thanks guys. as you can tell from all the pictures that we see of great knives that we learn and get ideas from have another side that rarely get seen by other than the buyer. these handle profiles are a great learning tool for me (i really have no skills in wood work lol) .
-
It's hard to get my camera to focus well. Anyway forged tapered blade & tang with shallow 10" wheel hollow grind.
OAL 8 1/2 inches...blade 4 1/2 inches. tippit
