Title: Firts Helle creation
Post by: Zbearclaw on December 26, 2009, 12:50:00 PM
I got a few Odel blades from Dryad and put one together to go with dad's new Buffalo bow from Big Jim's Bow Co.

Cocobolo and Zebra.  I like the shape, but would have preffered to have it laminated to match the bow better if time permitted.

That Helle blade is insanely sharp out of the package.

Now I need to find some birch stock to stain/dye to match my Black Widow Graybark PSA and I will make one for myself.

"Bop", as my kids call him, loved it.  I will be in his pack from now on.

It was fun, thanks guys.

I like the handle shape, and love the wood!

Thanks guys.  I had a rough idea about the shape but basically started with a rough sketch and made it fit my mitt.

Now I am going to start one to match my Black Widow PSAII and hopefully finish it before I leave dad's workshop in 6 days.

Though hunting is the first priority after spending time with the family, so I may just have to do what I can and finish it at home.

Thanks again, this site is an incredible resource...
