Title: Deweese pattern neck knife......
Post by: Loosenock on December 17, 2009, 05:26:00 PM
During the pre-depression era of the last century Marble's made a knife designed by the early 20th century big game hunter Dall Deweese.  I happened to see an original Deweese knife and had to make one.  This one is about 7/8th the size of the original.  Hand forged from 1095 the blade is 3 1/8" and overall length is 6 3/8 inches.  The sheath is made from an old boot.

The handle was antiqued with potassium permanganate; the blade with ferric nitrate.  The sheath didn't need it.
