Title: ideas on making a forge

i'm a beginner black smith i have made a few fire pokers and the like with someone else's forge i would like to get some ideas on making my own forge please. so one day i can make beautiful knives like you guy's and girls

thanks that looks like a good one i did not think propane would be hot enough.

It'll make it up to about 2300 degrees F. (1260 C.)

how hot will i need to get steel to make damascus

I made one out of a truck wheel drum. It worked well I used the hole in the drum to afix a pipe with a blow dryer in the pipe to provide air flow into the bottom of the drum
