The other night I saw someone had registered with the name GrnMtnTradNut. I checked out the profile and saw the person only lived about 15-20 minutes away from me. So I sent him a PM welcoming him to Trad Gang. Well I learned he is real new to traditional(just wanted the challenge compound wasn't giving him anymore) and after some talking I invited him to my house for some shooting.
Seems a friend of mine from high school works with Chris and had changed completely over to traditional in the last two years and had loaned Chris a 60# bow of his to practice with. Yes Chris was severely over-bowed. Well I received a package in the mail from my friend Robert Painter (twotimer) today that was going to change that for Chris and I hope help him out a lot in the long run.
In the package I got from Robert was a very nice condition Browning Wasp 43@28 56" recurve. A very good weight to learn on and an armguard that came in very handy.
After setting Chris up with his new to him gratis bow, an armguard and a new tab(he is going to be changing to a glove after shooting with me today and seeing mine) we hit the backyard.
Bernie here is your fulldraw pic of Chris.

After watching Chris shoot a few and sacrificing one of my Axis arrows to the stone wall we did some talking about anchor and form. His shooting improved immensely as we progressed and he came to understand what a good draw/release with fingers felt like. We will be shooting weekly for a while and see if we can't get him on target for some venison this fall.
Here's Chris with his haul and trophy arrow.

Funny how someone can live so close and yet out paths never crossed until Trad Gang.
We'll work on the elbow next time. ;)
I think he has better form than me :clapper:
Hats off you Vermonster!

Great form, both Chris and the bow. I had to stare at the beauty in the working recurve limbs. I may have to pick up one of those bows. Congrats on making a new friend, David!

Dave is one of my favorite people and I have never even "officially" shook his hand yet!! But by Golly, I will one day!!! You have a great teacher and friend there for sure!!
Great show Dave and welcome green mountain friend. You can't ask for a better instructor so listen close to him. Also that glove is hard to resist isn't it? One shot with Dave's and ordered one myself.
Super job Dave! As always, you've outdone yourself again. Chris welcome to the ranks.
Our season is still on until the 31st. Come on down.
The Southern Redneck / JAG
How's that Cari-Bow treating you TJ. I got a Tuktu Diamond this week that I have yet to get pictures of.
Chris, Welcome! I'm another one who has been helped by Dave, and took home a "WALLY"! Yes, even though I live in Ohio, I visited Dave and his famous "Wall of Arrow Crippling Stone".
Brother Dave, you rock!!
Good on you Robert!!
Oh, TJ. I spoke with Abe and his lovely wife tonight, and told them about how much you love that Cari-Bow. They both said to say Hello! They are set up in the booth catty corner from us at K'Zoo. Directly accross from us is Black Widow, and beside us is Fox Archery. Behind us is Jim Belcher and across from him is Stryker. I'm havin a good time!!
WAY TO GO, DAVE! CHRIS, BE CAREFUL! YOU MIGHT GET SUCKED INTO THE WHIRLWIND OF TRAD ACTIVITY CALLED VERMONSTER13.
Lookin good chris...welcome to the site and trad bowhunting
oh GO SOX!
Good on you, Dave - way to go! Another archer properly shown the merits and fun of trad archery/bowhunting.
A year ago I snagged a mint 32# Browning Wasp for my youngest daughter (38!) who wanted to join Dad in roving the back woods and get away from her kids a few times a month :D . The Wasp is a great little bow ...

Dave, it's treating me fantastic. Sometimes I don't know what I did to deserve a bow like this (besides making the payments lol). It is the best thing I own.
Now get pics up of that bow! :D More incentive to come up this spring
I was a little surprised at how well the Browning shot Rob.
Those wasps are smokers. I owned one and it was one of the fastest bows I ever shot. It was within 8-10 fps. of my Morrison and RER bows. I kick myself for selling it, but I know who has it, so one day. Nice pics. and the elbow is only and inch or so high. Shawn
Up so Bernie can get the full draw pic.
Welcome aboard, Chris. Most of my family line hailed from VT (after they crossed over from Ireland and then filtered away from the big city to the Green Mountains), including my Ma and Pop. Dave has done a(nother) good thing here and sorry I didn't see it sooner. He gave me a heads-up today when he called me on the tellejingle just to say, "Hey" I bought a number of those Wasps (about 5 or 6) and resold them while i was doing that when working at a local Archery Shop. I liked every one of them, they needed very little "cleaning/fixing" up, and everyone who got those were happy with them. I'm sure you will be too, Cris - Best of luck with it. I will have your Full Draw pic posted on my web site later today (after my nap - LOL). You can visit the page it's on (below) later today (and check out the whole site when you get time - most folks like it). :wavey: :archer:

Your FD pic is now posted, Chris. Thanks Dave.
you guys never stop amazing me!! your all super. :wavey:
I'm in Rutland. If you want to come up and shoot some time give me a hollar.
Shot some more with Chris today. He took the lessons to heart and fixed his elbow to boot. I'm real glad he has his own arrows now. lol He doesn't have to worry about the wall anymore but I see many broken nocks in his future.
