Title: Which bow to buy?
Post by: Matt Ward on January 25, 2008, 12:49:00 PM
Afternoon folks, I have been hunting exclusively these last three years with a Osage selfbow I made and its doing great, but I recently ran into the problem of too much bow for the blind I was hunting in.  Was thinking about purchasing my first production bow and  recurve from Checkmate bows Inc. (the Atilla) and was wondering if it was any better than say the Bear Grizzly recurve.  They are approximately the same price, but with the bear I would recieve it in two to four weeks versus up to six months for the Checkmate.  Opinions are welcome in helping to make this decision since I have never bought or hunted with anything else but a Osage selfbow.

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,

If you want to stay with an "all natural" bow you could try our BushWacker.  58" long ntn and perfect for the blind.

Also Jason has a 3 piece glass bow for close to the same money you will pay for a production bow.  It can also be 58" and starts at $550.

Check out our website and let me know if you want one.  We are running eight weeks on custom orders at the moment.

The Attila is a nice little bow, nicer than the Bear and if ya do a search on-line ya can find them at several places that have them in stock and ya could have it in a week or so. Shawn

Hey,
You wouldn't know how to shoot a bow without lumps, bumps or see-through knot holes in it!!

If you get a FANCY bow, what are you gonna blame your bad shooting on? The clownishly-red hair? That's wearing thin (the excuse, not the hair).

Stick with the girl you brought to the dance. Greta is all you really need, just rub a little bear fat on her...uh, it.

See ya Brother,
OkKeith
