Title: "SomeThing Different" 2 pc. set for St. Judes
Post by: SKYLER W on May 24, 2009, 10:13:00 PM
This was a Joint Effort with our Good friend Russell Phillips. He has helped us a lot with our Knife Making and Helped us with "Cutter" that was built for last years St. Judes Auction. We started planning this as soon as the Auction was over Last Year......Dad and I dreamed up this knife / hatchet Set last Summer and it has went thru Several Versions to get here....It is the best we and Russell can build and we hope ya'll like it.....Russell put a lot of effort into using the Correct Steel to made a "Good" Hatchet...The Hatchet is made of S-7  and is heat-treated and tested at 48rc, which is a little softer for Chopping. It is 9 inches tall and 4 inches wide and 1/4" thick. The Knife is A-2 steel and Heat treated and tested at 57rc. It is 6 inches overall with a 2 1/2 inch Blade......The Handles are Bacote' with 3/16" pins and Lanyard hole. Both Knife and Hatchet are Shaving Sharp.... The Sheath System is our idea based on a Back Sheath that Joe Coots has for a Revolution Era 'Hawk. We added a Detachable Horizonal Knife Sheath that can be worn on your Belt when you chose too...AnyWay here are the pics.......   (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0479.jpg)   (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0486.jpg)  (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0493.jpg)  (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0494.jpg)  (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0500.jpg)  (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0502.jpg)  (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0499.jpg)  (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/DSC_0496.jpg)
