Almost any of the makers on here can handle, and produce a good neck knife.

Are you wanting a commercially made neck knife? Or a custom?

For a commercial reasonably priced neck knife, I like the CRKT Fixed Falcon (or the discontinued CRKT Carson neck knife if you can find them).  I use a neck knife when bowfishing to keep the knife handy and not have it drop into the water (secured in rigid sheath and a neck chain).

Maybe it's just me, but the last place I want anything sharp is around my neck.
Who came up with that idea, anyway?

There great and handy to carry. Some love them some hate them. I carry one in the field tucked inside my jacket. It is sheathed Karl so it is not anymore dangerous then wearing on the hip.<><

Not any more dangerous?
If you trip and fall, and that knife pokes through that sheath, where would you rather get stabbed?
The hip, or the jugular vein?

LOL I doubt it would hit the jugular. Poke through a sheath??? I find that hard to see happening. Lots of people wear them and have been for alot of years. I have never heard anyone ever getting hurt.<><

To each his own I guess. I have seen hundreds of people over the last several years at trad rendezvous wearing neck knives. I have NEVER heard of anyone "tripping" and having the neck knife cut their throat.  But....like anything else I guess there is always a first.

Think I'll keep mine on my hip - regardless.
I'd rather err on the side of caution.
If somthin's gonna happen, it'll happen to me.

Ok back to what was asked. Doug Campbell makes a great necker. As does Robtattoo(not sure if he is making anything now) Just an bout any knife maker on here could make ya one. But then that would depend on how much ya wanna spend?<><

While it's not actually marketed as a "necker," the Helle Nying serves very nicely...I simply put a neck-length leather bootlace on the sheath, and it hangs real nice.  Like Frank, I wear it tucked inside my shirt/jacket/vest...very handy...

There's usually a few beauties posted during the St Judes auction...coming up in about a month or so.

Thanks for all the responses! I do believe the knife tucked inside the shirt is a great out of the way place to put a knife. I like the compact size of neck knives and really enjoy custom knives. I will check some of the mentioned places and see what I turn up.

TradGangs own "Robtatto" makes a nice one that will not break the bank. He moved to the states(Tenn. I believe) from England a couple of months ago and has been out of pocket since January. Once he relocates and gets his shop up and running he'll be back on board. He is worth the wait.

You may just find a few of them on the St Judes Auction if you can wait...Doc

I think mine are too long for true neck knives. I'm fixing to re-sheath them with standard belt sheaths.

I'm with Karl on this one.  Besides, I don't even like a necklace around my neck.  Maybe dogtags ruined me?

Edit: Some of the sheaths I've seen folks use and make I wouldn't wear on my hip either.
