I was just wondering if someone could help me out with a leather and superglue handle.Should I epoxy the first layer of leather and superglue all the rest,or do I epoxy all layers of leather? Thanks for any help Harry

Not sure what you mean by "layer"?
Are you doing a "stacked" leather handle?

Hi ,I am laying the leather on the handle and gonna harden with superglue than sand of to form the handle shape.(I dont know how to attach pics). Thanks Harry

I have no experience with this.

I assume you are doing a full tang knife. I don't have any experience either, but I think you would epoxy the first layer and super glue the rest. Here is a link from the buildalong forum to a longbow leather handle that uses the technique you are talking about. I've thought about doing it for a knife, but haven't tried it. It looks really cool.

Be sure to learn to post pictures and show us how it loks. I think you will have some others try it also. Mike

You could always just super glue on the first layer... I would recommend drilling a bunch of tiny holes to help hold it on. I made a knife with a leather handle this way and it seems to stay on fine.

Thanks guys,I remembered seeing that link on the glue up bow handle just could not find it to reference. Thanks for the input. As soon as I figure out how to upload pics ,I'll see what everybody thinks.Harry

Superglue works well for the first layer. An all leather handle works fine for a hidden tang as well. I was fortunate enough to do some cutting tests with a bladesmith's BIG blade... he surprised me with that leather handle. It cut and handled like a dream too :D
