Title: New blade done!
Post by: LONGBOWKID on February 23, 2009, 05:42:00 PM
Hammered out of an old plow disk.

Let me know what yall think!

15" OAL, I figure it will be a good machete-type knife.

Finish it up and put it to work! That does look like it will be good at clearing fence rows and shooting lanes.  Good job!

Ok Fellas, its done.

Seeing as how I'm actually keeping this one, and I WILL use it and use it hard at that, I saw no reason to really pretty it up, when I have other knives to make for people.

Birchwood Casey Gun blue on the blade, and a nice black walnut handle finished with tung oil.

Another "dont wanna be in the same room with" sharp special!

Now, the problem of making a sheath for a 15" knife arises!

Comments and critiques welcome and enthused!

I think it would be great with a front opening sheath like some kukhris come with. I'll look for a photo.

Maybe like this one.

See how the snaps are on the front which is left open? I think that would allow for a much quicker draw and ease of removal. Just an idea!
