A few new projects. Top two are pattern welded banding strap and band saw blade - top one welded nicely 2nd has issues? It will have to be a keeper. Bottom two blanks are forged from coil spring and will probably make it into the Swap at the end of May. I think I will grind a little more off at he ricasso area for a nicer profile on both?
Love how the pattern welded blades look in the end but it sure is a lot of work sanding every scratch out before you etch. My fingers are wishing I did not like damascus.
Stay tuned as I make progress with all of them.

I etched these two blades last night and as you can see my pattern welding skills need improvement. The drop point on top should become a pretty decent knife and I am happy with it so far. The bottom blade was a cut off drop from a billet and I added the two pieces of welding rod for a handle. As you can see, the weld did not take so good along the blade so I am thinking I will cut the handle down and make it into a friction folder. Never made one but I have an idea in my head as to how it will turn out so stay tuned to see if I can pull it off.
Smashing hot steel with hammers is fun.
