Title: How to Polished antler Knobs
Post by: Jesse on February 08, 2009, 01:10:00 PM
Just got some antler limb bolts for my widow from sticshooter, beautiful by the way Frank thanks.
But I have some projects i want to try and was wondering how do you polish the roughness out of the crowns and make them so smooth?
I know it is probably simple but inquiring minds want to know.
thanks

The way I do it is with sand paper.  I start with 120 grit and work my way to 600 grit wet.  That will usually do the trick.  The I put a little jewelers rouge on a leather strop and go to town till it is almost mirror shine.  Hope that helps

Try using a sanding drum on a dremel then the polishing wheels with a green or white compound.

dremel to get it smooth, then sandpaper on the heel of your hand. then finish it out with rgk's super glue finish, be shinin like a diamond in a goat's butt
