Title: African Blackwood &terqoise (Set)
Post by: Kevin Evans on February 03, 2009, 09:39:00 AM
Guys when I started making knives last April there where a few things I wanted to accomplish. The first was to carry a sharp pocket knife second was to make a few good knives and third was to make a good set of knives.(I don't know why I like sets)
Hope this gives you guys starting out some inspiration.(if theres anyway I can help let me know)
All knives are hidden tang,5160,soldier guards,N/S,brass,and african Blackwood, filed finger groves
I finished this bowie yesterday and is the last one to the set.
8"blade,13"OA  (http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn293/coonpeter/AfricanBlackwoodandterquoise007.jpg)
this is pic of both Bowie's did one in fall and just did other one
10.5"blade 15.5 OA
8"and 13"OA (http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn293/coonpeter/AfricanBlackwoodandterquoise015.jpg)
Here are the hunters
5.5"blade 4.75 handle (drop-point)
5' blade 4.5 handle
4" blade 4.25handle
last3" 3.5 handle (Jeremy it feels good)  (http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn293/coonpeter/AfricanBlackwoodandterquoise027.jpg) (http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn293/coonpeter/AfricanBlackwoodandterquoise026.jpg)
And finally all of them together!
I think this will handle most all of our hunting needs.A special thanks to all that have helped me get this far, whether detailed calls or just from inspiration. Thanks Guys!!!
This set is called the TRADE GANG SET (http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn293/coonpeter/AfricanBlackwoodandterquoise032.jpg)

Very nice Kevin !!! It's good to see your keeping that new grinder busy.

By the way our Hammer In at my old shop will be on the 18th & 19th of April this year.

Hope you can make it!!  Karl, you should try & make it if your not to busy.

Ron

Ron, if I can be there - I'll be there.!
I'm sure I'll be knee deep in getting ready for Atlanta, but if it's motorcycle ridin' weather by that time, I will certainly consider it.
Nice to see you here.
