I had the privelege of attending the 08 Fall Pineywoods Hammer In in Old Washington State Park here in Arkansas this past weekend. What a fun time learning about forging, fit and finish and the whole business of hand made knives. There were lots of great demonstrations as well as visiting fellow makers from all over the country and some from other countries. I took a few pictures along the way and a friend sent me some of his to show.
Some of you are familiar with Mastersmith Joe Keeslar. Here are some of him forging a large Bowie blade.
Using the floor as a chalk board and explaining details of forging.

The Cutting Competition is always a fun and interesting time for all who attend. I was competing so dont have photos myself , but expect some to come in soon from friends.
One friend who took some video footage extracted some still frames and sent this one to me. This is Journeyman Bladesmith Brion Tomberlin slicing through some water bottles. He bid three and made his points with this cut. Lin
