Title: setting pins in the handle

okay, so i've started my very first knife, a drop point from an old table saw blade.  i'm about to the point where i need to drill holes in the handle and handle pieces.  my question is -- do i need to drill a 1/4" hole for a 1/4" brass pin, or do i drill it smaller?  also, how do i go about setting the pins through to hold it all together?  are they glued in, or is it forced in?  

if these questions are answered in another post, please let me know.  i've tried to do a search for this, but couldn't find what i was looking for.

I use a pin the same size as the hole. Not sure how you would get it to fit any other way.

Glue the handle & pins, clamp. Make the pins longer than the thickness of the handle, a little sticking out on both sides of the handle.  After the glue dries rest the end of the pin on a hard surface and whack the other end of the pin with a hammer that will "peen" or expand the pin locking it in.  Then file it flush with the handle material!!
