This one is going to Tom in exchange for a nice '57 Kodiak :)
This is my favorite knife design. Blade was clay-coated and etched, vine filework on the spine, brass guard and pin, osage handle.

Blimey
That's about perfect Jeremy!
-
Very nice lookin' blade!
-
now that is sweeet!
-
Make them like that. I mean it. That is a VERY nice hunter. It looks very similar to some Terry Primos made. Lin
-
Lin, when I first got started making knives I picked Terry's brain a bunch on how he did his heat treat and blade finish. He was nice enough to tell me exactly what to do, step by step. The only change I've made is the clay coat rather than edge quench.
I've made a whole mess of knives that are pretty much identical to that one... love the lines of it.
-
that's where i recognize that design.
very nice jeremy, vine pattern really sets it off
-
Chris, yup, that design was inspired by Terry's 'Montero' knife (mine is wider at the ricasso) which was Terry take on Fisk's Sendero... I'm sure he was inspired by someone else's work. There's not much that's truly new.
Rob, does that mean you want me to make yours like this one? :D
-
jeremy, i dont know what i need to do but i want....no scratch that i NEED one of your knives
-
Wow Jeremy!
-

You make mine however you want, Jeremy (I wouldn't kick that one out of bed though..... ;) :D )

That is SWEET! Nice trade, too.
Lin's right - again.
Keep makin' 'em that way.
That has got to be one of my favorite handle profiles, and one I use on my EDCs.
It seems that no matter your hand size, that handle just disappears in your hand and is very comfortable to use.
Nicely done.
What steel did you use?
-
It's my favorite handle and blade profile. Most of my knives get a similar handle profile, unless it messes up the overall line I'm going for.
My steel of choice for the last few years has been 1095. I like how it responds to differential hardening - real easy to get the look I'm going for.
I'll be playing around with O1 for a few knives in the next batch, but 5160 is on my list on my list of steels to do some serious forging. I need to replace (retire) a few old tools and the 1/4" x 6" x 6' bar of 5160 sitting in the shop is calling my name.

WoW, I reeeeally like that Jeremy. I could do just about all of my knife work with that baby. How do I get on the ..."I want one bad" list?
JOHN

John, that depends, how do "I" get on your "I want one bad" list?! :)
-
i really like the design of that knife. Nice lines.
-
Jeremy, I think we can work somthing out. :bigsmyl:
I'm about ready to call it a night right now, have to be at work at 5:30am. I think I have something that you might like that I'm just finishing up. I will PM you some pics after I get home tomorrow evening. You can take a look and let me know what ya think?

Wow that sound like a great deal in the making! I want to see how this ends!
Great knife Jeremy!
-
Looks pretty darn good Jeremy. Another example of your fine work.
I'm really looking forward to the postman showing up. Thanks, I hope the '57 is working out for you.
-
Jeremy, PM sent
-
I'm glad you like the looks of Tom! If I had thought you'd see this post I would have waited a few days to put it up and keep the surprise ;) . I haven't been shooting the '57 much, but that's about to change. I have a hard time bringing myself to shoot the old bows if there's still a lien on 'em! Looking at it every day was driving me nuts! :)
John, right back at ya.

FINE LOOKING KNIFE. HANDSOMELY SIMPLE DESIGN THAT EXUDES QUALITY.
-
Very impressive. LOVE the file work.
-
:bigsmyl: Jeremy, I got the knife in the mail yesterday.
The pictures don't do it justice, and it's just the right size. Very, very nice. You do great work.
Thanks again.

Very attractive, in every way!
