Title: nearly finished
Post by: Bobby Urban on September 13, 2008, 09:19:00 PM
I was in the shop today and forged a iron finger guard heat treated and put a handle on the bowie.  Lot of room for improvement but I like it.  I plan to give this to a friend who gave me the antler for handles.

Bobby.  That looks like a really nice straight forged blade and a special gift for your friend.  Keep the forge fire going as I seem to learn something new & different each day...tippit

Bobby, thats nice!  Did you stain the antler?  or is that the natural color?

Natural.  It had sat in the woods a while.  Might be just dirt

Unlucky - Not yet.  Actually have not looked into it much.  I did find a source online that will make me a stamp for about $80.00 delivered and I will probably go that route when I get around to it.  Just have a lot going on with the season fast approaching and that is when my toy building goes on the back burner.
