Acacia Take-down Hunter.
This one sort of surprised me! While snooping around at the Blade Show this year, there were these two blocks of handle material that just sort of jumped out at me from this fellow's table. It was just dark and rich in color. I liked it.
I saw by the label that it was "Stabilized Acacia" One I was not familiar with. But, it was very dense and heavy. I like that.
I am so glad I got both of them. It was just a dream to work with, and as hard a material as I have ever had the opportunity to use.
Just under a 6 inch clipped blade forged down from my 1" square 5160. Stainless fittings and full take down construction.
Should make someone a great friend!
I'll be dragging this one along to the http://www.americanbladesmith.com/MidAmerica08.htm
