Title: Friction folder in the works/finished pics added
Post by: woodsman1031 on July 31, 2008, 02:02:00 AM
This is a friction folder I am working on. The blade is from an old saw blade, the handle is black walnut. I still have to final sand the handle and bevel/heat treat the blade.

I finished it up. I had alot of fun with this one! I ended up doing some file work on it. The handle is formbys tung oil that I actually "scrubbed" in with 000 steel wool 3 times. and buffed it all off when dry. it is silky smooth.    (http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f138/woodsman1031/my%20friction%20folder/07-31-08_1747.jpg)     (http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f138/woodsman1031/my%20friction%20folder/07-31-08_1748.jpg)     (http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f138/woodsman1031/my%20friction%20folder/07-31-08_1749.jpg)

Woodsman, that is nice, and simple.  But a challenge that is completely different from a fixed blade.  Good job.  Dan
